1) “What Do We Care – feat. Tom Sanders” – Moscoman, Teleman

Funky. It took me quite a few listens to get into this but now I am really enjoying it. This song doesn’t seem too typical of Moscoman’s electronic routes but there is an interesting looking remix by Gerd Janson if that is what you are after.

2) “Solid Ground – Virgil Abloh Remix” – Michael Kiwanuka

Hot off the heels of winning the Mercury Prize, Michael Kiwanuka has dropped this delightful remix. I hate to say it, but I thought Michael Kiwanuka’s two previous albums were better than KIWANUKA, but I seem to be in the minority on this… Virgil Abloh is artistic director at Louis Vuitton and fell in love with this track when he heard it at one of their fashion shows. Danger Mouse and Inflo also helped to write the original track alongside Michael Kiwanuka – a star studded affair!

3) “Jeanie (feat. Bon Iver)” – Jim-E Stack

Jim-E Stack appears to have a pretty comprehensive phonebook, being able to pull off these collaborations seemingly out of nowhere. Previously he has worked with Empress Of on another track that will be on his upcoming album “Ephemera” along with this one. He also co-wrote and co-produced Bon Iver’s recent track “AUATC” which featured none other than Bruce Springsteen.

4) “Ferris Wheel” – Sylvan Esso

Another great track from Sylvan Esso. There is a theme at the moment, being brought to more prominence by COVID-19, where artists team up with video games to do virtual concerts. Here’s a cute one for this track made on Animal Crossing. This is the third track from their recently released third album, “Free Love”, that deserves a listen.

5) “Headlights” – Squirrel Flower

This seems perfect for one of those indie films that features a sad scene with some young teens. Maybe one of them could be in a car and this is all you hear over the top. The team behind the music video (see YouTube link below) seem to think along the same lines as well.
