Albums

1) “The Killing of Eugene Peeps” – Bastien Keb (2020)

Under the radar Bastien Keb has released his new album today 9 October. Atmospheric and interesting, he is the UK’s underrated answer to Bon Iver.

2) “New World Coming” – Nina Simone (2020)

Struggling to find much more about this new posthumous album from Nina Simone dropped on streaming services today. It looks like it is maybe a rearranged and remixed / reproduced version. Either way it has a cracking intro.

Label: Sony Music Entertainment

3) “Human” – Turtle (2017)

Somehow I let this pass me by in 2017. This is a delight and a beautiful album to stumble across. Some cracking tracks to get you pumped up that sit alongside ambient electronic music nicely. Great to have on in the background while working, reading or just sitting and enjoying music which we should all be doing more of anyway.

2) Future Islands – livestream – 9 October 8pm BST

To promote their newly released album, “As Long As You Are” (2020), Future Islands are doing this livestream. Known for their presence in live concerts it will be interesting to see what they do without an audience and just on camera. However, if this Jools Holland clip is anything to go by, I’m sure they’re working on something special.
